Some of our dinners at Thanksgiving include many delicacies that are not safe for our cats or dogs. Some can be very harmful and even toxic to your dog or cat.

As a veterinarian, there is one condition in particular that I often see in older, intact female dogs/cats. This condition is called pyometra. 

This past week we encountered a case of parvovirus, which is one of the top deadly viruses of our lovely canines. However, this virus is highly preventable with vaccinations.

Reese is a 4 year old Choco Lab who lives with Dr. Maskery and her family. He is extremely friendly and loves all people and other dogs. He especially loves his cat housemates.

We see it every year. The dog/dogs running around the box of the truck unsecured, dogs with their head sticking out of the car window, the cat laying in the back window.

How exciting it is to get outside with your pet and enjoy the warmer breeze and the sun? Along with this season comes some dangers that we do not want around our pets and us!
